Extension to the Compliance Date for Form PF Amendments
Articles by: Richey May, Feb 19, 2025
On January 29, 2025, the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), in collaboration with the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), announced an extension to the compliance date for the amendments to Form PF.
Originally set for March 12, 2025, the new compliance date has been pushed to June 12, 2025. This extension was announced to reduce administrative and technological burdens on filers, giving you more time to prepare, program, and test your systems to ensure compliance with the updated requirements.
Form PF serves as a confidential reporting form for specific SEC-registered investment advisers to private funds. If you’re also registered with the CFTC as a commodity pool operator or commodity trading adviser, this extension provides additional flexibility for you to align with the new reporting standards.
What Should You Do Now?
- Review the changes to Form PF that were adopted on February 8, 2024.
- Evaluate your internal processes and existing reporting systems to ensure they are aligned with the updated requirements.
- Use the additional time to program and test your systems for compliance with these amendments.
