On March 9th, Richey May hosted a webinar for independent mortgage lenders on the New York cyber security regulation, 23 NYCRR 500, which recently went into effect in an effort to protect the state’s financial services industry and consumers from the threat of cyber-attacks. Presented by Mitch Tanenbaum of CyberCecurity, topics included entities covered by the regulation, required practices for covered entities, implementation timeline, impact to business processes, ongoing compliance requirements, and reporting.
