Sami is licensed as a CPA in the U.S. (Washington State) and in Canada (British Columbia). Having started his accounting career 18 years ago, Sami has been practicing exclusively in forensic accounting and business valuations for the last 10 years.
His litigation and valuation experience includes being an in-house investigator at a public company, four years in the forensic services practice of a Big 4, and five years investigating attorneys in his capacity as a Forensic Accountant with a lawyers regulatory body. He has also provided expert witness testimony.
As a Certified Valuation Analyst, Sami values small to midsize businesses for purposes of, inter alia, marital dissolution, estate and gift tax, owner disputes, potential sale of ownership interests, and business succession planning. He has also prepared rebuttal reports that review the work of other experts, for use in litigation cases.
As a Certified Fraud Examiner, Sami is passionate about helping clients get closure in litigation files by getting to the bottom of things. Be it a fraud investigation for a business or non-profit organization, or forensic accounting to trace community or separate property in a marital dissolution, Sami has the experience and expertise to run the engagement in a cost-effective manner and to prepare robust court-ready reports that are built to withstand challenge when the stakes are high.
