MSR Process and Accounting Review
This review includes providing guidance on the pros and cons of retaining servicing and an overview of the financial and operational items to consider. Review and discussion of the strategy of LOCOM versus fair value prospective accounting decision, equipping decision-makers with pros and cons of the accounting election for their unique strategy. This also includes a review of the capitalization process.
Servicing Retained / Released Overview
Designed to give mortgage originators and management an overview of the advantages and disadvantages of retained servicing vs released strategies, with a detailed presentation of the strategic implications of each across the company. This includes analyzing servicing actual cash flows to modeled, enabling MSR holders to identify and understand potential cash flow gaps, and what servicing is currently retained or released.
In addition, a customized model that forecasts the actual cash flows of servicing (not an MSR valuation) is included. The model includes along-range interactive forecasting models that enable scenario planning. By changing production levels, retention levels, recapture income and other inputs, this analysis helps understand the cash flows of your servicing operations. Servicing Strategy Deep Dive
The ultimate way to truly understand your MSR portfolio financial results, align its strategic direction and optimize the path forward through dynamic market conditions. It begins with a deep analysis of the MSR portfolio and reviews the overall servicing retained/released strategy as it fits within the overall company strategy. A review of the production side of the business is included. With this service, your on-going support includes strategic assistance with sale selections and Letters of Intents and Contracts as well as periodic calls to discuss MSR conditions and on-going strategy. This also can include MSR Management Reporting and Risk Reporting, including a review of current reporting to bolster current efforts. A key differential in our approach is to educate and assist with the team’s understanding of the cash flows and reports.
Origination Production Review Deep Dive
For all mortgage originators, regardless if servicing is retained. This Deep Dive identifies the risks across all Production with a detailed analysis across multiple levels. If servicing is retained, a periodic review of the retained risks is reported at the Loan Officer, Branch, and Investor level with detailed reporting. If only releasing servicing, a periodic review of the risk is produced. Specific MSR risks are evaluated and weighted upon the strategy of the company. The impact of servicing cash flows includes a production review and the creation of the definition of the ideal retained customer.
Capital Market Review Deep Dive
Reviewing pricing, margin, concessions, and investor mix for a total picture of your capital market performance. The in-depth analysis looks at all aspects of reporting, pricing, and delivery with insights customized by delivery option, including aggregators, agencies with co-issue, and internal capitalization.
On-going MSR Support
Outsourced MSR Risk Management that includes a variety of functions including creating and maintaining schedules to help MSR owners understand the cash flows, assumptions and potential risks with the MSR portfolio.
