Katie Compton has been with Richey May since 2009 and serves as an Assurance Partner in the Mortgage Banking practice, specializing in serving mortgage banking clients and acting as a lead manager in the Employee Benefit Plan (EBP) Audit practice. She is responsible for planning, coordinating, and performing audits—including 401(k) audits—for closely held financial services companies, where her deep industry knowledge ensures each engagement meets the highest standards of quality and compliance. In her leadership role, Katie supervises audit staff throughout the entire audit process, providing training and mentorship to new professionals and fostering the development of a skilled team. She also maintains active involvement with the Colorado Society of CPAs (COCPA), where she is a member of the Membership Connections Committee, helping to plan networking and continuing professional education (CPE) learning opportunities for local CPAs, as well as the COCPA Employee Benefit Plan Conference Planning Committee. Before joining Richey May, Katie consulted in the health care accounting industry for the HCA hospital network, leveraging her expertise to advise clients on complex accounting matters and operational improvements.
